“Sports. Mentorship. Economic opportunity. These three pillars took me from the outskirts of Dallas, to the NFL, to the C-Suite—heck, even the White House. Now, I believe they can empower the ten million children living in poverty across the United States of America. And we need your help.”
– Scott Turner, CEOC President

Even with government assistance and other programs, more than 10 million children – almost 1 in 7 – live in poverty. About half of these children live in extreme poverty. These statistics are from our last U.S. Census in 2019. Since then, we have experienced a severe increase in unemployment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Approximately 14% of working Americans lost their jobs, resulting in a projection of 9.2% – or 29.3 million Americans living in poverty today.
